The academic and research engagement pillar focuses on activities that promote collaboration between researchers, institutions and industry partners to foster a vibrant Korea-Australia research community and create opportunities for enhanced teaching experiences and transformative learning in areas related to Korean language and culture.
Collaborative research laboratories (Korea Research Collaboratories) are intensive research workshops designed to foster communication and advancement around a key theme in modern Korean society and scholarship. Leading researchers are invited to participate in these 1-2 day events. The sessions are open to wider audiences. Each workshop is led by a core staff member of the Centre and focussed around their particular expertise in line with the key overarching themes of the Centre.
The Korea Research & Engagement Centre hosts and co-hosts conferences and symposiums to support the Korea research community.
The Korea & Research Engagement Centre seminar series focuses specifically on providing opportunities for scholars and those involved in creative arts who work in Korean Studies or have strong collaborations with Korea to network and showcase their work. These research network talks are held four times a year, both face-to-face and online. The KRC Seminar Series features both KRC research webinars and visiting speakers.
