Curtin University was the among the first universities in Australia to introduce Korean Studies curriculum in the 1990s, with one of the largest Asian Studies departments in Australia at the time. Curtin University was the first university in Western Australia to introduce a Korean Studies degree program in 1992, and after a short hiatus in the 2010s the University relaunched the full Korean Studies major program in 2023. We are pleased to be the first university in Australia to offer the full major fully online both to Curtin Korean Studies and via the Open Universities Australia (OUA).
