The UWA Korea Research Centre of WA and the UWA Defence and Security Institute were delighted to host an in-person and online public event to celebrate and reflect on the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Korea (ROK) and Australia.
This event aimed to enhance public understanding of the importance of ROK-Australia relations in the Indo-Pacific region, and to provoke dialogue around the history and future possibilities of this important relationship. The event focused on exploring clear priority collaboration agendas, developing and proposing areas for further research and investigation, and providing recommendations for developing and enhancing the ROK-Australia bilateral relationship.
The public event is followed by an invitation-only roundtable, which will assess the implications of emerging security and defence collaborations for the future of the Australia-ROK relationship.
